When it rains we use an umbrella or a rain coat. In fact we all leave our umbrellas in the car and may not even have it with us when it starts raining. So when we have to take our dogs out in the rain, they will need a good dog rain coat, because the umbrella just will not do. Sharing an umbrella with your dog may be alright if we are carrying them, but if they have to walk outside in the rain, a dog rain coat will come in handy. In fact the weatherman is forecasting rain for tomorrow. I bought a pretty pink polka dotted dog rain coat for Kate, but she won’t get it till I see her in a couple of weeks. In fact, she is going to spend a week or so with me and it will come in handy. However, her feet get so wet that it needs to be wiped clean before she comes in.
In India, where I grew up there were 3 distinct seasons: summer, winter and monsoon. Monsoon is when it rains everyday, and sometimes for several days in a row. But it rains here all year round. So we have to be ready with a dog rain coat for those wet days. In the winter the dog rain coats can be padded.
This really does not have anything to do with this topic, but I thought you might like to know that here in Arkansas, we have a festival of sorts, called “Toad Suck Days”. They actually have frog races and such. It is a big deal around these parts. I have not been to it, and doubt I will, but it sounds interesting.
